The Great Cheeta Controversy
According to The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary, Cheeta died on December 24, 2011. Almost immediately, doubts came flying from many different directions as to the validity of this claim. Everyone from Hollywood to primate Specialist railed against the claim as not possible. I haven’t seen such an uproar in years since it was revealed that Lassie was really a boy. How dare they…….
Steve Jobs – He was The Force
When Steve Jobs resigned so abruptly just a few weeks ago, I knew something was up. There had to be a solid bad reason for him to be leaving. Today we found out why.
Steve Jobs is Dead.
I can actually say that I got to meet Steve Jobs one time a long time ago. I was very directly involved in the Personal Computer Industry for many years. I got to attend a meeting where Steve Jobs was the Keynote Speaker. after the meeting a small group of us got to sit around and chat and ask questions for a time and I can agree with every other person who said this, Steve Job was a genius.
Dancing with the Freaks!
I don’t normally care who gets picked for this show unless something stupid happens like Marie Osmond fainting or Kirstie Alley almost killing her partner by jumping into his arms. Other than that, I don’t pay much attention.
This season’s lineup caused me to do a double take. it seemed to push the edge of decency and to make even me wonder if the producers of the show have lost their minds.
This season’s line-up is:David Arquette, Chaz Bono, Nancy Grace, Ron Artest, Elisabetta Canalis, Kristin Cavallari, Rob Kardashian, Ricki Lake, J.R. Martinez, Chynna Phillips, Hope Solo and Carson Kressley.
With the exception of maybe a couple of these people, this season could be called “Dancing with the Freaks.”
Jerry Lewis and MDA
Hallelujah! MDA finally got Jerry Lewis off of the telethon, something that should have happened a long time ago.
I am a supporter of MDA, what they do and what they are trying to cure. Like many, I have watched the telethon for decades,as far back as I can remember, this was the Labor Day tradition for me.
I have also worked telethon activities in several states and have documentation to prove it. It always seemed to be a worthwhile charity though recently, I have had some major concerns with their tactics and I have been super concerned about what Lewis has done to them with his stupidity.
Sidney Lumet
Sidney Lumet died today and even I, an avid movie buff, had to look him up to see exactly what he had directed. I knew I had heard his name before, but I had to refresh his connection to my film viewing history.
That says it in a nutshell. Sidney was not one of those directors you always hear people talking about, but he was by far, a director who was affiliated with some of the more memorable screen monets.
Yes, I called them, Monet’s.
Elizabeth Taylor
It will be hard to write something about Elizabeth Taylor that you won’t see in 1000 other places in the next week or so. Already, just in the last few hours, over 1000 articles have hit the news feed, most of them repeating career highlights and such, all good information, but oh so repetitive.
In a bold attempt to not follow the herd, I will try to convey some things about Elizabeth Taylor that maybe others had not thought of.
So here’s my take on the passing of such a well know star.
Headlines
First the Japan Quake,
Then Aflac fires Gilbert Gottfried because of his stupid jokes about the Japan Quake.
Now the latest, a Boa Constrictor that died of Silicon Poisoning
after biting a Model’s fake boob during a photo shoot.
The boob is listed in Fair Condition and is scheduled to go home shortly.
I can think of only one this to say here.
Holy Headlines Batman !!!!
Charlie Sheen: An Episode from The Nanny
For those of you who are fans of “The Nanny”, you’ll remember an episode about a kid who claimed to be tired of Show Business. He cries, he screams, he puts on the juice until Fran convinces Mr. Sheffield to release him from his contract. Sheffield does and right at the end we see the cut away to the announcement that the kid has a new television show now that he has dumped Sheffield and his play.
Fast forward some 15 or so years……….enter Charlie Sheen.

Charlie Callas
Charlie Callas was the only comedian that ever made my father laugh. I don’t know if it was the facial contortions, the goofy character or just the material presented, but it always improved the Old Man’s Mood.
I would characterize Charlie as Sid Caesar, add some Robin Williams, throw in a Bit of Laurel and Hardy, and stir in some Jerry Lewis. Mix well and put him on any television show or movie including over 50 appearances on the Tonight Show.
R.I.P. Charlie……..
